Science and Technology, Entry Program (STEP)

Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP) is a New York State Education Department (NYSED) grant funded program that aims to increase the number of economically disadvantaged students and others prepared to enter college, and improve their participation rate in mathematics, science, technology, health-related fields, and the licensed professions.

We serve students in grades 7 through 12. The STEP Program at City Tech offers a variety of non-college-credit workshops, including standardized test preparation.

Academic workshops include:

  • Math (Algebra I, Algebra II, Trigonometry, and Geometry)
  • Financial Literacy
  • Living Environment Regents Preparation

In addition, we provide a diverse selection of STEM-focused workshops, such as:

  • Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Application and Software Design
  • Computer Hardware Basics
  • Woodworking
  • Introduction to 3D Printing Technology
  • Introduction to the Medical Field and Public Health
  • Medical Research Lab: From Concept to Presentation

Spring 2026 Classes will be held IN-PERSON and/or ONLINE.
