Important Financial Aid Reminder

The time to file your award year 2020-2021 financial aid applications is approaching. Please file starting October 1, 2019. Do not delay.

The 2020-2021 FAFSA and TAP applications (summer 2020, fall 2020, and spring 2021) will be available starting October 1, 2018. There are three applications:

First, complete the 2020-2021 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) available at: www.studentAid.gov.

Second, complete the 2020-2021 New York State Tuition Assistance Program Application (TAP) through the link available on the FAFSA Confirmation Page or at www.tapweb.org.

Third, complete the CUNY Supplement Form if you are interested in applying for Aid for Part-time Study (APTS). The CUNY Supplement Form will be available on CUNYfirst (Student Service Center) by February 14, 2020. Use the IRS Data Retrieval option when you complete your FAFSA to transfer your 2018 income tax information to your FAFSA.

Tax year 2018 (January 1st to December 31st) income information is required, so you do not have to wait for tax year 2019 information.

We will send all communications to your City Tech Email Account. Check your City Tech Email Account regularly for:

  • Award Letter
  • Request for information (including verification)
  • Financial aid status
  • Notices
