Computer Engineering Technology (CET) brings together hardware, software, electronics, and networking to create the systems that power modern life. From computers and networks to smart devices and automation, CET focuses on understanding technology and applying it to real-world systems.
At City Tech, the CET Department prepares students for hands-on careers by combining strong technical foundations with practical experience, mentorship, and real-world applications.
What Is Computer Engineering Technology?
Computer Engineering Technology is an applied engineering field that emphasizes building, testing, integrating, and maintaining computer-based systems. CET professionals work in a wide range of industries, supporting and advancing the technology that organizations depend on every day.

Degrees and Academic Pathways
The CET Department offers multiple degree options to support different academic and career goals:
- Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Computer Engineering Technology
- Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Computer Engineering Technology
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Software Engineering Technology
Students may begin with the AAS and continue seamlessly into the BTech, creating a clear pathway from foundational skills to advanced technical and leadership roles.

The BTech Program in Computer Engineering Technology is accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET, under the Commission’s General Criteria and the Program Criteria for Computer Engineering Technology and Similarly Named Programs.
