Internship & Career Development Information

ALL internship opportunities must be cleared through the Citytech Professional Development Center (PDC). The PDC provides one-on-one career counseling, resume and cover letter review, interview preparation, career workshops, and professional development seminars. These services are facilitated through CityTechConnect, the virtual job board that students must access in order to use the services of PDC.

STUDENTS should:

  1. Claim their CityTechConnect account in one of two ways.
    1. Request a link to claim their CityTechConnect account via email at pdc@citytech.cuny.edu
    2. Visit PDC (inside the Welcome Center) in person.

NOTE that students must claim their account in order to access services.

  2. Submit their resume for review by uploading it to their CityTechConnect account once they have claimed it. Resume review and approval is required before students have access to apply for internships or jobs.
  3. Fashion students should schedule a meeting with the Director of Fashion Studies, Prof. A. Adomaitis. She can be reached at AAdomaitis@citytech.cuny.edu
  4. Direct any questions to the PDC at pdc@citytech.cuny.edu

EMPLOYERS can:

  1. Request a link to allow the employer to create a profile on CityTechConnect via email at pdc@citytech.cuny.edu. Once an account is created, employers can post available internships and employment opportunities directly to CityTechConnect. They must allow 5 to 7 business days for approval.
  2. Direct any questions to the PDC at pdc@citytech.cuny.edu
  3. Employers interested in a long-term partnership, the creation of a pipeline internship, and/or an employment alliance should be sure to CC the Office of Public Affairs and Partnerships at partnerships@citytech.cuny.edu when they write to the PDC.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

  1. The PDC will respond to students and employers within 7 business days.
  2. Any employer seeking to recruit 5 or more students will be assigned a PDC Program Coordinator aligned with the employer’s industry.
  3. Any employer seeking to recruit for a management-level position and/or 15 or more students will be assigned to a Program Coordinator aligned with the employer’s industry and be assigned a contact in the Office of Public Affairs for Partnerships Development.
